Mirage is set to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Amazon Luna in 2023. The game has been described as a return to the series' roots, with a bigger focus on linear storytelling and stealth gameplay than more recent installments, which primarily focused on role-playing and open world elements. Principally set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, the game will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla) and his transition from street thief to fully-fledged member of the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, against the Templar Order, who desire peace through control. It will be the thirteenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2020's Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The game was actually the first of the Ghost Recon games to make its debut on the Xbox 360, and if you missed out on it back in 2006, you can check it out 12 years later on the Xbox One.Assassin's Creed Mirage is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. Joining the open-world Ubisoft game on the backwards compatible list is another Ubisoft game, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, not to be confused with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from Activision. Nevertheless, if you missed out on the game back when it came out for the Xbox 360, you can check it out on the Xbox One as a backwards compatible title, along with every other previously released Assassin's Creed title. It's not quite as advanced as Assassin's Creed III or Assassin's Creed IV from a gameplay perspective despite running on the same engine, it lacks some of the naval elements and world size, but that was due to it being on the PS Vita. Much like other Assassin's Creed games it features a member of the Assassin's Order, also known as the Brotherhood, and players take on the role of Aveline de Grandpre, and it's set in the Louisiana bayou.
